Up and Coming: May

Resolutions

Here we are, a new month, a new blog post. April has flown by in a blink of an eye. I’m sure I had plans for it, changes that I wanted to make and things I wanted to do. Instead, I turned 24 and spent another month watching life pass me by. It’s really not a good feeling, I must admit.

I would say changes are being planned, but I’m so lost at what I want to do, I’m not sure that is true. Parents nag when I won’t open up, then snap when I do. I just don’t know what I want! If anyone locates my direction in life, then please point me towards it, I need all the help I can get.

Anyway, I’m going to focus on the things that make me happy as otherwise this whole post will be a rant and a moan and I’ve been writing enough of them lately. What’s planned for this month?

Up and Coming 1Books:
With having the tablet, although I’m reading every day still, it’s for about half the time I was. I think this could be the first month where I have to push reading.

I have a review ready to go for Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – what a book! I hope you enjoy the review. At the moment, I am currently reading Sharp Ends, the new one from Joe Abercrombie. This was perfect timing – you might recall that I’ve only just finishing reading the series that this is set against and am thoroughly enjoying the book so far.

My WHSmith’s choice of the month is A Year of Marvellous Ways by Sarah Winman. After loving her last book, I was really looking forward to this one. I am definitely eager for Farseer series by Robin Hobb. I’ve wanted to read her books for a lo-ong time! My final book is the second Way Walker by J Leigh which I am so excited for there are no words!

Films: Films are tricky at the moment. I’m too tired to watch them in the evening and then they all build up. But I do have a few planned for this month, starting with Scott Pilgrim Vs the World. I have no preconceptions about this film, so at least I’m going to it open minded.Up and Coming 2

The Martian and The King’s Speech have made the list for this month. I’ve heard good things about them both, although one is albeit much newer than the other. I don’t know much about either past the basics, but the positive reviews means I’m looking forward to them.

The Incredible Hulk is the final one for this month. This isn’t so much because I want to watch it, but because it’s the only Avenger film that I haven’t seen, so I feel like I should. Haven’t heard great reports though, so we shall see.

So that’s my month. How about everyone else? Got much coming up for May? Let’s hope the weather calms down a little bit!
