Weekly Wonders: 27th Feb – 5th March

weekly-wonders-copy

I’ve had a reading buzz for a little while now, helped by the long train journeys. This week might have been a record for me though. I finished three books (having only started two this week as well) and am now making good progress through another two. I think it is just chance – the books were just the right length to read on an entire journey and get them finished. But still, it feels like a big achievement. What can I say, my life revolves around books!

I’ve been having problems recently with feeling guilty for not getting on top of my Netgalley books. If I carry on the way I am going, I won’t have to worry as the books I am managing to read are also reviewing ones!

I’ve realised there isn’t actually that long left of having the long train journeys, not really. I fully intend to make the most of them and basically binge-read and get as much read as possible. There are worst things to challenge yourself to than a reading craze, isn’t there?

Apart from lots of books, what else has been going on? I had an impromptu week off work (the way our holiday system works!) which I didn’t realise was coming which has been fantastic for helping to deal with the deadlines, especially over the weekend.

Good progress has been made on both assignments this week, which is lucky as the deadline is coming up. It’s also lucky considering how I have been feeling. To say I have zero energy is basically an understatement and it’s getting to be a problem. I’ve not been sleeping too badly and eating healthily, yet I can’t remember the last time I didn’t feel drained.

It has been another four-post-week on the blog this week, which makes me very happy! If you have missed a post, have a look here and a quick catch up session!

  • Monday: Book Review: Ashes by Steven Manchester
  • Wednesday: Up and Coming: March
  • Friday: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
  • Saturday: The Girl on the Train

The Girl on the Train was a filler initially set for later in the month, but then I readjusted my plans and it ended up on for this week instead. That is because I am determined to get a few things reviewed as they are finishing, meaning I needed this Saturday free!

This is what I have planned for this upcoming week:

  • Monday: Book Review: Extracted by RR Haywood
  • Wednesday: Dear Diary: Positive Thinking
  • Friday: Television Review: Black Sails, Series 3
  • Saturday: Television (Netflix) Review: Shadowhunters, Series 2.

I’m hoping if I can get the last episode of Shadowhunters watched, I can get the review up the same week. That’s the plan, anyway.

So what about you? How has your week been? What are you reading/have you discovered any great books that you lost yourself in while the rain came down? If you’ve got any good suggestions, let me know, I always need new things to read!
