Rather than the books I plan to one day read, I thought I would share five books that I am excited about reading over the next few months!
Have you read any of these?
A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen
I watched the film the other week and absolutely fell in love. It left me with so many emotions, and was the most beautiful film I’ve seen for a long time. Talking about it with a friend, I discovered she had the book and was more than happy to lend it to me.
I can’t wait to read it! I want to see if the same emotions are triggered reading as they were watching. I bet they are! The fact that it is Bowen’s life story makes it all the more meaningful. Fingers crossed it is as good as I hope it is.
The Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
I read the first book last October, then the second over Christmas. I’ve been on the waiting list at the library pretty much ever since for the third instalment, but I’m slowly working towards position one.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about this final book, but as I’ve been keeping myself spoiler free, I’m not entirely sure what causes the conflicting opinions. All I know is that I’ve enjoyed the first two and am looking forward to the conclusion of what has been an enjoyable read.
He said/She said by Erin Kelly
I have to admit, I have no idea what this book is about. But I have heard such raving reviews and comments about it that I really want to give it a go. It’s another one that I’m waiting for the library to get in, so who knows when it will finally come, but it is coming!
I’m excited about this book just because of the reactions. I might look up some more reviews, but I don’t want to get my hopes too high or spoil it for myself. Has anyone read it? Any thoughts/opinions? (No spoilers, please!)
Behind her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough
I was 93rd in the queue when I requested this from the library. We had been talking about it at uni and the use of the social media campaign behind it. Well, I have to admit; someone got it right because I’m intrigued enough to pick up the book.
I’m now in position 41 and counting…
Lord of the Shadows by Cassandra Clare
Given my past experience with her books (and the fact I’m about to start re-reading them all as soon as I am done with Harry Potter), how can I not be excited about this book?
Lady Midnight wasn’t my favourite though, so I will probably wait for the library to get this in rather than buying it. But I am very much looking forward to indulging in the Shadowhunter world again and seeing what is in store for the characters.
What books are you looking forward to reading?
