Back to Blogging!

Back to Blogging 1

Look who is getting herself back in the blogging business?

I apologise for the lack of posts and interaction over the last couple of months. As you may be aware from previous posts, I have just undertaken a MA. It’s been the most intense year of my life, juggling working part-time and commuting to university as well as studying. I reached a point where I was enjoying writing the reviews, but everything else had lost its fun. I couldn’t decide what additional posts to do, I didn’t have time to watch the films I wanted to review and promoting the posts just saw me falling further and further behind.

I decided to take a break. It was the right thing to do: I was stressed out enough as it was without adding a hectic blogging schedule into the mix. A couple of weeks ago (just as I started getting myself organised again!) I realised how much I was missing blogging and now feel that I am ready to give it my all once and again.

I have some exciting plans for the blog now the MA is finished (and I’ve recovered!). It should be back to three posts a week, including at least one book review. I’m determined to start clawing my way through my ARC’s and copies that I have been sent. I’m currently feeling incredibly guilty that I haven’t been able to offer these authors feedback yet, but hopefully some steady posts should turn that around.

I have some long-term plans as well, including doing the Twelve Days of Christmas and getting a review posted on each of those days. It may be more than I can handle (that’s quite a lot of material to get through and the books aren’t short!). I’m also hoping to do at least the trial of Kindle Unlimited to get a few series finished off where I’ve reviewed the first book and not gone any further. I guess I’m trying to get it to a stage where I feel in control, although I know that is going to take some hard work.

Now that I’ve finished my MA, I am hoping to find a job in publishing. I do have a few personal aims though. I really want to get into a good routine with the gym and general self-care to overcome some personal issues once and for all. I also wish to return to my abandoned novel and make something of it.

Back to Blogging 3

I know these are targets I’ve set before. But right now, I’m feeling like focusing on the things that I love, so maybe that is the inspiration required to get me going? Who knows!

There we have it: I’m back and raring to go. I hope I can give you some good content over the next few months to make up for not being around for the summer.

How is everyone? What have you been doing? What books did you read over the summer? Let me know!
