I had fun writing my morning routine last month – it was a different post for me and I loved figuring out what to say. I’m not confident writing make up/skin products posts yet – I mainly feel like I don’t know what I’m doing, let alone trying to talk about it. But some ideas don’t leave you, and that’s what happened here.
As with my routine, I’ve been getting into some bad habits with make-up (aka, I’m not bothering). But while everyone has their reasons for wearing/not wearing it, I find I do feel more confident in myself when I’ve made a little bit of an effort. It’s easier to hide how you’re feeling with some colour in your cheeks!
These are some of my every day faves:
Instant Concealer (Clarins)
I can’t be the only one always trying to hide dark circles! Half the time I end up with too much and have to do a lot of blending, but this is a must-have for me to actually look half-awake! It’s not cheap, but it blends on really easy and I love it.
Vitamin C Skin Reviver (The Body Shop)
I’ve only been using this recently but I love it. It’s got a fresh, orange-y smell (which reminds me of something!) and you don’t need a lot to cover your whole face. I’m not sure if it’s an “instant smoother” but it gives you a glow otherwise lacking at this time of year.
Bronzing Duo (Clarins)
Even on a bad day, this one makes the cut. It gives just enough colour to get away with if you can’t be bothered, and stops my skin looking as shiny, which is always a possibility when you’re having to commute!
Blush Prodige (Clarins)
I’ve just started using blusher having not had a decent one for years. While I’m still getting used to this, it does help give me some colour, which makes me feel better! You don’t need much and it brushes on easily without looking too bold. Just what I need.
Airbrush Away (No 7)
I’ve always struggled with large open pores, especially around my nose. I’ve hunted high and low for various products, but really struggled to find one that does anything. This one works enough for me – you don’t need a lot and it does give a smoother appearance. It’s not cheap, but considering how much you need, it’s worth it.
I’ve been using Clarins’ mascara for a few years now. I discovered I needed a hypoallergenic one to stop my eyes from feeling dry, and this works really well. I’m currently using a travel one but the size of the bottle certainly does not impact the length of lashes! I love it!
All of these are quick and easy to use, so perfect for first thing in the morning. Anything to help me look more awake at the end of a hard week!
How about you? Have you got daily favourites you wouldn’t want to be without?
