I told you I would gradually get around to catching up on some tags/awards that I was tagged for! It’s just taking some time.
The lovely Zezee with Books nominated me for this one. I strongly recommend you all go and check out her blog, simply because I get so many book recommendations from her!
But once you’ve skipped over there, favourited/followed her, and then come back here, let me know. For now we can get on with the award!
Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Add these rules to your post.
- Answer all the questions below.
- Display the award picture in your post.
- Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring and most important of all ENTERTAINING!
1. Why did you start a blog in the first place?
I got the reviewing buzz after doing a module at uni. I started it purely for reviews and nothing else to begin with. I guess you could say that it exploded from that and turned into the blog that it is today. I wanted to squeal about the things I love and rant about the frustrating things and, voila, one blog.
2. What is your favourite book?
This really depends what mood I am in! You all know by now that Eragon is my go-to book, as is Fangirl. I suppose these are my comfort books.
But I’ve read some brilliant things this year. Going off this year alone, my favourite book at this moment in time is probably 88° North by J.F Kirwan. As you might be able to tell by the gushing review I posted a few weeks ago. It played with my emotions and blood pressure so much.
But as for overall favourite, that is a cruel question and I can’t give you a definite answer!
3. What do you dislike the most?
Books or in reality?
If we’re talking real life – rude people! I know it is a bit of a cliche answer, but I work in retail. And the things I have to deal with… One man accused the “state of my nails” because they were either cut really short or bitten. I have never bitten my nails in my life and the “state” was that they were clean, short, neat and uniform. I couldn’t believe he had said it. People do not have the right to judge/make comments on other people, especially in an environment where the person (staff) cannot respond because they are at work! Okay, sorry, rant over.
Book-wise: characters that stand there and reflect how much they have “developed”. What happened to show don’t tell and letting the reader see that development? Chances are if they are saying that, they haven’t developed at all.
4. What is your favourite food from the mall?
Mr Pretzles. I’ve got to admit that I’ve only bought one once, but that’s because they are expensive and huge and I can never eat a whole one on my own. But they always have samples. I can never walk past without having a taste. And if I happened to walk back past that area a little while later, they haven’t yet recognised me to figure it out.
I don’t like pretzels in a packet. But the soft cinnamon and sugar ones here…Mmm!
5. What is your favourite past-time?
It’s beyond cliche if I say reading here, isn’t it? Although to be fair, it is the truth.
Taking out reading, I’m going to say writing. I love writing up these posts and enjoy having an indulging session with the novel. But I still get a thrill out of fanfiction writing as a way of just having an escape – I’m writing it purely for fun and my own benefit rather than anything else. I can lose myself for hours playing with the characters without having to worry about world building or aspects like that.
Who do you nominate?
There are so many fabulous blogs out there that I enjoy reading that I’m finding it impossible to narrow down. So instead, I nominate you! Yes, you! You reading this post right now – I nominate you for the award.
So have fun and don’t forget to let me know if you take part so that I can come and have a nose at your answers.
